In the early 2000's, there was a boy band named Dream Street. It consisted of five members, including Chris Trousdale, Greg Raposo, Matt Ballinger, Frankie Galasso, and it's most famous member, Jesse McCartney. At the time, the group was set apart from other boy bands at the time because its members were actually young teens from ages 14 to 16.
The group only lasted a few years before they broke up and each went their separate ways until a tragedy brought them all back together during the COVID-19 pandemic. McCartney obviously went on to have a successful solo career and did some acting roles, as well. So, what exactly went down that causes the group to break up and where are each of the members now and what exactly are they doing today? Let's find out!
8 Dream Street Broke Up Over A Lawsuit
According to an article on Billboard.com, "The parents of the members of Dream Street have filed a suit against the teen boy band's creators, alleging their children were exposed to booze, women, and pornography. The lawsuit, filed in New York State Supreme Court in Manhattan, alleges that Louis Baldonieri and Brian Lukow 'have engaged in a wide range of conduct and activities that plainly threaten and impair the minors' well-being' according to an affidavit from band manager John Stuart."
7 Chris Trousdale Pursued A Solo Career After Dream Street
Chris Trousdale ended up signing with Columbia Records after Dream Street broke up, however, the record label wanted him to be a part of a new Dream Street boy band, something him and his managers didn't want him to do, so Columbia ended up dropping Trousdale from their label, leaving him unsigned by 2005. He was also dropped from tours he was supposed to be a part of with girl group Play and Aaron Carter.
6 Chris Trousdale Auditioned For The Voice
In 2012, Trousdale auditioned for The Voice, but didn't make it past the audition. During his onscreen interview on the show, he explained that he worked at a sushi restaurant, and he would occasionally get recognized for being in Dream Street, which bummed him out because he wasn't able to establish a successful solo career after the group broke up.
5 Greg Raposo Works In Real Estate
Raposo released a solo album after Dream Street broke up and did a bunch of performances in various parts of the country before going back to school and getting a job in construction and real estate. According to Raposo's LinkedIn profile, he works as a general contractor, in property management and real estate investment and development. He married his high school sweetheart, and they have three beautiful children together.
4 Matt Ballinger Works In Pharmaceuticals
Ballinger currently works in the pharmaceutical recruiting division at Green Key Resources, according to his LinkedIn profile. Along with Raposo, Ballinger resides in the New York area. Ballinger ended up dating and marrying a fan of Dream Street and the couple has two kids together. Yes, Danielle Manning, Ballinger's wife, was a fan of Dream Street who interviewed the group when she was 14 and made a lasting impression on Ballinger.
3 Frankie Galasso Was On Broadway
Frankie Galasso went on to play Joey in Jersey Boys on Broadway after joining the first national touring cast of the production as an ensemble cast member in 2012. He has been dating Kara Tremel, an actress he met while doing Jersey Boys, for ten years. The two have a dog together. Galasso doesn't post much on social media and seems to live a rather private life, and it is unknown what he is doing these days for work. His girlfriend, however, works as a fitness and nutrition coach.
2 Jesse McCartney Has A Solo Career
McCartney is the only member of Dream Street to achieve a successful solo career and make a living out of it. He recently got married to his longtime love, Katie Peterson and they have a dog together. McCartney is still touring the country performing his music and doing what he loves. In fact, on McCartney's most recent tour, Raposo, Ballinger and Galasso all gathered at one of his shows in New York for a reunion and to support their former band member. McCartney has also been doing voiceover work for the HBOMax animated series Young Justice and appeared on The Masked Singer.
1 Chris Trousdale Died From COVID-19
Shortly before his birthday in the summer of 2020, Trousdale died in the hospital due to complications from COVID-19. McCartney, Raposo, Ballinger and Galasso teamed up over zoom to film a video singing Dream Street's hit single, "It Happens Every Time." They all agreed that the reunion was something Trousdale would have appreciated because out of all of them, he loved being a part of Dream Street the most. Each of the members of the group posted on Instagram about the loss of their former band mate and how even though they didn't keep in touch with him, they shared a special time together growing up and being a part of the group together. Raposo was the only member to keep in touch with Trousdale over the years.
