Yvette Marie Stevens is an American singer, better known by her stage name Chaka Khan. She was born on March 23, 1953.

She began her career in the 1970s as the main vocalist of the funk band Rufus and has lasted for more than five decades. With “I Feel for You” in 1984, the “Queen of Funk” Khan became known as the first R&B performer to have crossover success with a rapper. Khan has amassed eleven Grammy Awards and a global record sales total of over 70 million albums.
